Geneseo Community Players are thrilled to announce their highly anticipated return to the stage in “A Musical Scrapbook.” This innovative and original musical revue celebrates the rich performance history of the Geneseo Community Players from 1950 to the present. Audiences will embark on a nostalgic journey as they enjoy a collection of beloved songs from iconic musical theater productions such as “Annie,” “The Music Man,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Oliver,” “Pippin,” “Anything Goes,” “The Wiz,” “Pirates of Penzance,” and many more. Musical numbers will be woven together with engaging narratives and anecdotes recounted by veteran GCP performers and familiar faces. Additionally, audiences are invited to enjoy a curated display of historic programs, photos, posters, and other ephemera dating back to 1935 when GCP first performed in the village of Geneseo.
The captivating production of “A Musical Scrapbook” will occur on July 14th and 15th, 2023, at 8:00 pm. Audiences can secure their tickets in advance through our website, www.geneseocommunityplayers.org, or by visiting David Mann’s Jewelers, Sweet Arts Bakery, and Livonia-Lakeville Pharmacy. Ticket prices are $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for students and senior citizens. The performances will be held at the Alice Austin Theatre on the Geneseo College Campus. After a hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, we are thrilled to bring back this summer musical theater event and again entertain our beloved community.
