Genesee Valley Council on the Arts Grant Program

Genesee Valley Council on the Arts has worked to enrich the quality of life in the Genesee Valley region for over 50 years by promoting arts and culture. One of the main tiers of GVCA programming is its grantmaking. GVCA offers multiple grant opportunities to high school artists, working artists, and nonprofit organizations.

Statewide Community Regrant

ARTS IN EDUCATION | COMMUNITY ARTS | INDIVIDUAL ARTIST |

The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) developed the Statewide Community Regrant Program (SCR) to ensure cultural and artistic funding equity across NYS.

The Genesee Valley Council on the Arts is proud to administer this program annually for Livingston and Monroe Counties.

The current SCR cycle under GVCA has ended, with two succesful rounds of funding administered!

Aid To Localities

Organizational Growth Grant | Quick Action Material Fund | Inspire Community Grant | Applications

The first round of Aid to Localities, or ATL, features three opportunities for artists and arts organizations to further their arts and cultural projects.

Through these grants, we look forward to increasing equal access to the arts and those who keep us going with their creativity across Livingston and Monroe County.

Youth Grants

GVCA offers two youth grants or scholarships for high school students to further their artistic abilities through high school and into their college careers.

Arts Education grants support local cultural organizations and/or teaching artists in providing meaningful arts education for K-12 public school students up to and including senior adults. These funds serve to bring teaching artists and their classroom skills into dedicated learning environments for all ages.

Arts in Education


Community Arts

Community Arts Grants provide support for high-quality arts and cultural projects in all disciplines, genres and styles, serving geographically, economically, and ethnically diverse populations in order to increase the vitality of local communities in Livingston and Monroe Counties.

Individual Artists

 The Individual Artist grant provides support for emerging artists to create a new body of work in a community setting. It acts to highlight the role artists play in Monroe and Livingston County through a “live and work” investment in these creators.

QUICK ACTION MATERIAL FUND

 If you are an artist with a project in the works but require additional funding, this grant offers up to $1,000 to cover any expenses that may arise during the timeline of a project.

Organizational Growth Grant

The Organizational Growth Grant provides $10,000 for capacity and stabilization support to existing local arts and cultural organizations to sustain programs, projects, and operations.
