Exhibit Your Work in the International Phenomenon 6x6x2019! @ Rochester Contemporary Art Center

We want YOU to participate in 6x6x2019! Let your creative side loose and become part of an international small art phenomenon that spans the entire globe. It is completely open to all and free to enter, just simply fill out an entry form and mail, or deliver your 6-inch by 6-inch artwork to Rochester Contemporary Art Center by April 14 or postmarked by April 13. February through November, Dansville ArtWorks hosts an Open Mic event on fourth Fridays starting at 6:30pm.

Join us to experience and participate in performance arts. This year’s lineup includes musicians, writers, poets, songwriters and more. These events are family friendly and free/open to the public. Thanks are extended to our funding partner, Genesee Valley Council on the Arts.*

Free parking is available on Main Street and in the municipal parking lot behind the Town of North Dansville building.

February 22: Open Mic with Michael Scott Smith – original songs and storytelling in the Americana style performed on voice and guitar
March 22: Hornell Little Band in Concert – a traditional concert band performing classical and pop music and marches
April 26: Odd Combination Jazz – ensemble plays jazz and rock
May 24: The Wray Boys Do Country – duo brings the music of Ray Price, George Jones and other country artists to Dansville
June 28: Gary Peet presents The Song Writing Process – offering mostly original music on acoustic guitar and popular country and folk cover songs
July 26: Cris Riedel’s Stories for All Ages – enjoy folktales from a variety of cultures and countries
August 23: David Michael Nixon: Poetry and Songs – the artist’s poems, including those from Stephen Forgives the Stone: New and Selected Poems, interspersed with a cappella folk and country vocals
September 27: George Hochbrueckner offers The Diversity of Guitar – experience diverse styles and musical ideas
October 25: Beth Sleboda’s YUM! – one-of-a-kind blend of spoken word, vocals and instrumentals
November 22: Joe Dady and Fun with Folk – hear songs and stories from the Irish and American folk traditions

All events start at 6:30pm and free and open to the public; donations are welcome. Performances are very family friendly. Light refreshments follow the open mic session.

For returning students – join us this winter as we return to the basics and beyond of what creates a fun, safe and supportive yoga practice for all levels: Conscious Breathing, Refined Alignment and Balanced Action.
Along with Sun Salutations, and a variety of yoga poses, we will continue to explore breathing techniques (pranayamas), visualization (dharana), short meditations (dhyana) and interweave yoga philosophy and life style into each class. Yoga is for every body, mind and heart!

February 22: Open Mic with Michael Scott Smith – original songs and storytelling in the Americana style performed on voice and guitar
March 22: Hornell Little Band in Concert – a traditional concert band performing classical and pop music and marches
April 26: Odd Combination Jazz – ensemble plays jazz and rock
May 24: The Wray Boys Do Country – duo brings the music of Ray Price, George Jones and other country artists to Dansville
June 28: Gary Peet presents The Song Writing Process – offering mostly original music on acoustic guitar and popular country and folk cover songs
July 26: Cris Riedel’s Stories for All Ages – enjoy folktales from a variety of cultures and countries
August 23: David Michael Nixon: Poetry and Songs – the artist’s poems, including those from Stephen Forgives the Stone: New and Selected Poems, interspersed with a cappella folk and country vocals
September 27: George Hochbrueckner offers The Diversity of Guitar – experience diverse styles and musical ideas
October 25: Beth Sleboda’s YUM! – one-of-a-kind blend of spoken word, vocals and instrumentals
November 22: Joe Dady and Fun with Folk – hear songs and stories from the Irish and American folk traditions

All events start at 6:30pm and free and open to the public; donations are welcome. Performances are very family friendly. Light refreshments follow the open mic session.

Want to participate in Open Mic? Following each featured artist, we open up the floor for audience members to share their talent with brief, family friendly performances: prose and poetry, vocal, instrumental, storytelling, performance art, dance and similar. Upon arriving for the event, sign up on our Check In sheet.

Yoga Basics and Beyond Mixed Level @ Genesee Valley Council on the Arts

**Mixed Levels
For returning students – join us this winter as we return to the basics and beyond of what creates a fun, safe and supportive yoga practice for all levels: Conscious Breathing, Refined Alignment and Balanced Action.
Along with Sun Salutations, and a variety of yoga poses, we will continue to explore breathing techniques (pranayamas), visualization (dharana), short meditations (dhyana) and interweave yoga philosophy and life style into each class. Yoga is for every body, mind and heart!

Resident Craft Club LCCNR -Special Craft Presentation @ Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation

Join us for a special presentation to learn a new craft. The Residents at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation will learn how to make Coasters out of tiles adding different materials to create their special designs. All are welcome to join us to help and make a coaster for yourself too! Funding for this event is from the Artists in Education Grant from the Genesee Valley Council on the Arts.
