Livingston Arts has announced events for the first half of 2017. All of these upcoming events are free, sponsored by our members, the Livingston County Board of Supervisors and the NYS Council on the Arts.
Livingston Arts Scholastic Art Show: “This Art is Your Art”
Exhibit display on March 25, 2017 from 12pm to 3pm at York Central School
Best in show and first places winners exhibited April 1 through April 29th at Livingston Arts
Closing reception and scholarship awards April 29, 2017 at 3pm
Free and open to the public
All-student exhibit featuring high school artists from across the Genesee Valley region. A jury of professional artists will select best in show and first place winners to be hosted at Livingston Arts April 1-29. Livingston Arts will award three $200 scholarships to students studying the arts or an arts-related field in college. GLOW Traditions at Livingston Arts presents Dr. Jorge Díaz-Herrera: Venezuelan Harp Concert
Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Riviera Theatre, Geneseo, NY
2:00 pm talk: History of the Harp in Latin America, 3:00 pm concert
$5 donation, 18 and under free.
The concert will feature the music of the Colombian-Venezuelan plains (Los Llanos Colombo-Venezolanos), where the harp takes a leading role. Attendees will enjoy the rich melodies of Latin American music performed on a unique variation of one of the world’s oldest instruments. New Deal Gallery Opening and County Historian’s Exhibit: “Expressions of World War One in Photographs and Letters Home” and Opening Exhibit of WPA Artwork in the New Deal Gallery
Opening reception Friday, May 5, 2017, 5pm-7pm, at Livingston Arts

Livingston County Historian Amie Alden presents letters and photographs from residents of Livingston County to explore the impact of the World War I on those abroad and at home.
New selections from among the over 200 easel paintings commissioned Works Progress Administration in the 1930’s during the administration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Betsy Harris, Livingston Arts Executive Director, will curate the exhibit.
Emerging Artist Jennifer DeVille Catalano: “A Luminous Enchantment”
Jennifer DeVille Catalano exhibits for the first time at Livingston Arts. Opening Friday, May 5th, 5pm-7pm. Free and open to the public.
Jerry Alonzo Exhibit
Thursday, June 8 from 5-7pm at Livingston Arts
Veteran artist and woodworker Jerry Alonzo opening exhibit. Free and open to the public.

A festival to celebrate the food, drink and art of our local region featuring tastings and sales of beer, ciders, spirits, wines and foods. Vendor applications from chefs, farmers, and artists are being accepted through February 15th. Vendor application and an entry form for the poster design contest is available at
